Commitment to Best Practice Privacy Standards

Commerce Plus Pty Ltd is committed to protecting our clients’ personal information and letting our clients know the type of information we collect and how this information is used. Our privacy statement is based on the National Principles for the Fair Handling of Personal Information, developed by the Australian Federal Privacy Commissioner.

Commerce Plus Pty Ltd also intends to comply with any guidelines or laws introduced in Australia to strengthen privacy protection.

Information Collection and Use

Commerce Plus Pty Ltd is the sole owner of information collected on this site. We will not sell, rent, use or disclose our clients’ information without the consent of our client unless legally required to do so or if we considered necessary to:

  • Implement our terms of service;
  • Provide our clients with the services requested;
  • Protect the rights or property of Commerce Plus Pty Ltd, any user of our services or any member of the public; or
  • Lessen or prevent a serious threat to a person’s life, health or safety.

We collect information from our clients at several points on our website.

Log Files

Every computer must have a unique Internet Protocol address. We use IP addresses to analyse trends, administer the site, track client’s movement and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.

Registration

In order to use this website service for the first time, a client must first complete the registration form. During registration, a client is required to give their contact information (such as name and email address). This information is used to contact the client about the services on our site for which they have registered or expressed interest. Please contact us if you no longer wish to receive information in relation to those services. In addition, a client is asked to provide financial information (like bank account details). This information is used for billing and payment purposes.

Upon written request (to the above address) we provide clients with access to all information that we maintain about them. Commerce Plus Pty Ltd must first be satisfied with the bona fides of the written request. Please contact us if you want to correct or update any information we are holding about you.

Cookies

A cookie is a piece of data stored on the client’s hard drive containing information about the client. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information while on our site. Once the client closes their browser, the cookie simply terminates. For instance, by setting a cookie on our site, the client would not have to log in a password more than once, thereby saving time while on our site. If a client rejects the cookie, they may still use our site. The only drawback to this is that the client will be limited to some areas of our site.

Cookies can also enable us to track the interests of our clients such as recording client specific information on what pages a client accesses or visits.

Sharing

We use a financial institution to process payment transactions. They do not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes unless required to do so by law.

We partner with other parties to provide specific services. When the client signs up for these services, we will share names, or other contact information that is necessary for the third party to provide these services. These parties are not allowed to use personally identifiable information except for the purpose of providing these services (unless we tell the client differently).

Links

This site may from time to time contain links to other sites. Please be aware that Commerce Plus Pty Ltd is not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites. This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by this web site.

Surveys and Contests

From time to time our site may request information from clients via surveys or contests. Participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary and the client therefore has a choice whether or not to disclose this information. Information requested may include contact information and demographic information. Contact information will be used to notify the winners and award prizes. Survey information will be used for purposes of monitoring and improving the use and satisfaction of this site and its services.

Security

Commerce Plus Pty Ltd takes all reasonable steps to keep our clients’ information secure, accurate and up to date. When clients submit sensitive information via the web site, the information is protected both on line and off line.

When our registration form asks users to enter sensitive information such as bank account details, that information is encrypted and is protected with industry standard SSL. While on a secure page, the lock icon at the bottom of web browsers such as Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer becomes locked, as opposed to un-locked, or open, when you are just "surfing".

While we use SSL encryption to protect sensitive information on line, we also do everything in our power to protect client information off line. All of our client’s information not just the sensitive information mentioned above is restricted in our offices. Only employees and contractors who need the information to perform a specific job are granted access to personally identifiable information. Commerce Plus Pty Ltd will take all reasonable steps to ensure that our employees and contractors respect the confidentiality of any personal information held by us.

All of the data we collect is stored on secure servers protected by "firewalls" against unauthorised access. You should notify us immediately if there is any unauthorised use of your account or any other breach of security. However, Commerce Plus Pty Ltd does not accept responsibility for any consequences of the unauthorised access to your information.

Notification of Changes

If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on this page so clients are always aware of the information we collect and how we use it.
